Silhouette-Based Multiple-View Camera Calibration

چکیده
In this paper, we present an efficient method for calibrating many camera views simultaneously. We derive an error function based on the mutual consistency of the object silhouettes in pairs of views and explicitly derive gradients that are employed for minimizing the error function. Our experimental results suggest that the gradient-based minimization of the error function robustly calibrates multiple camera views. Due to the explicit availability of gradients, the technique is also computationally efficient.

Wide-Baseline Multi-View Video Segmentation For 3D Reconstruction
Obtaining a foreground silhouette across multiple views is one of the fundamental steps in 3D reconstruction. In this paper we present a novel video segmentation approach, to obtain a foreground silhouette, for scenes captured by a wide-baseline camera rig given a sparse manual interaction in a single view. The algorithm is based on trimap propagation, a framework used in video matting. Bayesia...
متن کاملVirtual view synthesis from multiple view video sequences
This paper addresses the synthesis of virtual views of people from multiple view image sequences. We consider the target area of the multiple camera “3D Virtual Studio” with the ultimate goal of capturing video-realistic dynamic human appearance. A mesh based reconstruction framework is introduced to initialise and optimise the shape of a dynamic scene for view-dependent rendering, making use o...
متن کاملVirtual view synthesis of people from multiple view video sequences
This paper addresses the synthesis of novel views of people from multiple view video. We consider the target area of the multiple camera 3D Virtual Studio for broadcast production with the requirement for free-viewpoint video synthesis for a virtual camera with the same quality as captured video. A framework is introduced for view-dependent optimisation of reconstructed surface shape to align m...
متن کاملCalibration, Recognition, and Shape from Silhouettes of Stones
Multi-view shape-from-silhouette systems are increasingly used for analysing stones. This thesis presents methods to estimate stone shape and to recognise individual stones from their silhouettes. Calibration of two image capture setups is investigated. First, a setup consisting of two mirrors and a camera is introduced. Pose and camera internal parameters are inferred from silhouettes alone. S...
متن کاملTowards A 3D Virtual Studio forHuman Appearance Capture
This paper introduces the concept of a “3D Virtual Studio” for human appearance capture, akin to the motion capture studio for human motion tracking. Ultimately the 3D Virtual Studio should enable video-realistic reconstruction of a moving person from any viewpoint. A mesh-based stereo technique is presented to reconstruct a moving person from multiple camera views. This technique optimises a s...
